LA Weekly’s Sips & Sweets

Tomorrow is #NationalCookieDay and to celebrate, L.A. Weekly is indulging with a sweet sale on tickets to our Sips & Sweets event next weekend!
From 7am Friday, December 4th through 10pm Saturday, December 5th get 50% off GA tickets through our National Cookie Day Flash Sale!
Taking place on Saturday, December 12th from 8pm – 11pm at Magic Box @ The Reef, this event will feature samples of delicious confections, sips of handcrafted cocktails and shopping for amazing holiday gifts and trinkets.

Saw this quote while shopping at the new Whole Foods in DTLA. I couldn’t agree more. 😂

If you haven’t checked out this location you must go now. I know some of you will say it’s just Whole Foods BUT trust me, this one is amazing! It’s huge! They have everything including a  barbecue station, a restaurant with full bar, and even Chego! You will occasionally see Roy Choi serving a Chubby Pork Belly Bowl.

Parking is plentiful as they have 170+ dedicated spaces for shoppers.

Tacos Tu Madre

Thanks to Damoneats I was invited to attend the soft opening of Tacos Tu Madre in Westwood. They are a fast casual taco shack that serves delicious fusion tacos including vegan ones too!

We got to sample a number of tacos

  • Duck molé
  • Carnitas
  • Chorizo & Egg
  • Vegan Banh Mi

 All were very tasty! To my surprise the vegan taco tasted best! The tofu was firm and had a nice char. And the pickled veggies were so fresh and had a perfect crunch to them.

Be sure to get the frozen horchata. It’s SO good! Oh, and you can’t end your meal without getting those warm red velvet churros with cream cheese. Yum!
