POWER LUNCH LINE UP

Perched atop the US Bank building on the 71st floor is L.A.’s newest and brightest culinary destination. With 360 degree views of L.A., cuisine to match the view by Chef Vartan Abgaryan and New York City’s Chef George Mendes of the critically acclaimed restaurants Lupulo and Aldea, this event is destined to bring dining to all new heights on many levels.

Chef David LeFevre has a reputation for amazing technique, bold flavors and an imaginative flare that is a reflection of his personality. The Arthur J is everything a steakhouse should be; half Mad Men set from the 60’s and half swanky spot for dry-aged steaks, lobster and classic cocktails with an updated twist. Add the James Beard Nominated skills of Chef Alex Seidel from Fruition and Mercantile & provisions in Denver and you’ve got yourself the winning ticket to an amazing lunch.

Southern Californians will have the opportunity to try specialties from Lexus Culinary Master Stephanie Izard’s three Chicago restaurants at a lunch hosted at Venice hot spot Scopa Italian Roots. Her dishes will be complemented by Scopa’s chef and fellow Top Chef Chicago challenger Antonia Lofaso who shares the same approachable attitude to fine dining.

The Friday Night Market will feature an abundance of unique tastings using seasonally inspired ingredients from some of the nation’s most influential chefs. The event will be a multi-sensory street food experience that brings the flavors of night markets from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur to Grand Avenue! Serving up traditional as well as interpretive street grub from both established restaurants and mom-and-pop joints, the Night Market recreates the celebratory chaos and delicious energy of the quintessential Night Market experience with a distinct West Coast flavor. Along with tastings of street food from over 30 participating restaurants and eateries, admission includes custom cocktails, sake, beer and free-flowing wine.

Two alumni from the kitchens at LA’s storied L’Orangerie are teaming up to present their modernized versions of the dishes that made L’Orangerie famous for decades. Hinoki & The Bird offers a serene backdrop for this showcase of culinary prowess that will echo the past with an eye to the future.

Chefs rarely eat ‘fancy foods’ plated with tweezers, foam and shmears when they have the rare opportunity to eat out. What they generally seek out is comforting, satisfying and hearty fare similar to what you’d find at an old school diner…but better. The chefs creating the menu for this fun updated throw-back dinner are all buddies who wanted to share their passion for the classics. And where better to serve this dinner than the Nickel Diner in DTLA? Come hungry…the menu is amazing! Featuring Chefs Bruce Kalman, Nick Shipp, Monica May and Duff Goldman.

Sleek but rustic. Refined yet devoid of the rigid formalities of fine dining, Otium is the perfect neighbor to anchor the Broad Museum that is sits adjacent to. Otium Chef Timothy Hollingsworth and Jon Shook of Animal are combining forces to create an unparalleled lunch event that will include a guided tour of The Broad Museum from 11am – 12n before the meal. Otium is a contemporary restaurant that draws from the rich culinary heritage of Chef Timothy Hollingsworth. Jon Shook along with Vinny Dotolo have partnered with Chef Ludo Lefebvre to create such culinary hot spots as Animal, Le Petit Trois, Trois Mec, Trois Familia, Son of a Gun and Vinny & Jon. With this much fire-power and talent in the kitchen diners are sure to experience something beyond their expectations.

Paley marks the return of Hollywood’s dining glamour where fine dining makes a grand re-entry into the studio district. The swanky Art Deco design will make anyone feel like a star, but the real celebrity component are the creations coming out of the kitchen. We’ve paired the East Coast and West Coast talents of host Chef Chef Greg Bernhardt with the down home charm and wry wit of Chef Hugh Acheson which should make for a star-studded culinary adventure.

Take a one-stop tour of four of the finest restaurants in Venice Beach at the newly reinvigorated Rose Café. Chef Jason Neroni plays host to three of his most talented Chef –neighbors in Venice Beach who will collaborate to display their best dishes all in a single setting. On display will be chef talents from notable locations – Leona, The Cannibal and Chef Evan Funke’s much anticipated and soon to be open Felix. Simbal is Chef Shawn Pham’s ode to the brilliance of simplicity and balance. A hidden gem location that features his Southeast Asian creations, which showcase a combination of tradition and technique. Jessica Largey is about to open her very own restaurant in LA, Simone.
